The genius Sony engineers in Tokyo have developed this prototype 360º Autostereoscopic display. The tech allows viewers to see full colour volumetric objects from all angles, it reminds us of the Emperor holographic transmitter from Star Wars! The display uses special LED light forces and can show 360 unique images to all directions in 1º separations. No 3D glasses are required.

Toshiba launches world’s first dual touch screen e-book laptop

Toshiba has launched the world’s first dual touch screen e-book laptop to mark the 25th anniversary of the company. The laptop named Libretto W100, weighs just 819 grams and runs on Windows Platform. One screen can be used to read books just like an E-Reader. Libretto W100 can be used both ways, either horizontal or vertical. If you hold it vertically, you can effortlessly read a book on a intuitive interface. On the other hand if you hold it horizontally, it functions like a laptop. There is also a virtual keyboard to input data.

Sharp Corporation has developed the world’s first four-primary-color 3D

The newly developed 3D LCD by Sharp offers a radical new solution to the above problems by combining four of Sharp’s unique, one-of-a-kind LCD technologies, including (1) UV2A technology*2, Sharp’s core technology for LCD TV panels, (2) four-primary-color technology*3, (3) FRED technology*4, and (4) side-mount scanning LED backlight technology*5. This LCD is optimized for 3D TV, as screen brightness when displaying 3D images is 1.8 times higher than that of the conventional displays*6, and crosstalk is extremely low. Sharp’s four-primary-color technology utilizes four primary colors, adding Y (yellow) to the three conventional primary colors of R (red), G (green), and B (blue).

The dragonfly-like plane has reached its planned altitude, its batteries are fully charged and all is ready for the night, according to pilot Andre Borschberg, speaking live from his cockpit 28,000 feet above Switzerland.The Solar Impulse aims to fly around the world using only solar energy to power the plane.The plane was designed, modelled and built in silicon using Dassault Systèmes computer-aided development and manufacturing software before any parts were ordered.
